The Vision Behind This Project
The Challenge
This whole-home transformation in Fairfax, Virginia combined an open-concept kitchen renovation with a brand-new primary suite addition — two projects that together fundamentally reimagined how the home lives. On the main level, a non-load-bearing wall separating the kitchen from the living and dining rooms was removed to create a seamless, airy flow. The existing bay window was replaced with a large vinyl gliding window, and new 2¼" red oak hardwood flooring was installed throughout the kitchen, with the entire main level sanded and refinished to a uniform finish. Hampshire Cabinetry semi-custom cabinets — built with plywood box construction, dovetail joinery, and soft-close doors and drawers — anchor the new kitchen alongside a generous island, Calacatta Premata quartz countertops from Euro Stone Craft, and a full suite of GE and KitchenAid appliances. A Cosmo 36" Lumin Collection ducted insert range hood completes the culinary centerpiece.

Calacatta Premata quartz countertops from Euro Stone Craft bring a luminous, veined surface to the work areas, while a Homacer 84" solid wood paneled unfinished interior door adds warmth and architectural character.
