The Challenge

MOSS Building & Design completed a comprehensive carport renovation and site improvement project in Alexandria. The project involved relocating the carport toward the rear of the property, requiring new structural footings and engineered support systems.

The Approach

A knee wall was framed and finished with matching siding, while structural enhancements included the installation of support posts and LVL beams, all professionally wrapped for a finished appearance. The project progressed through complete engineering and permitting phases to ensure code compliance.

The Result

In addition to the primary carport structure, the scope expanded to include a complementary shed on the property. The shed received professional insulation installation featuring R49 fiberglass batt insulation in ceilings with proper baffles at eaves, and R19 insulation in exterior walls. All penetrations, window and door frames, and joints were carefully sealed with foam and caulking to ensure energy efficiency. Site work included demolition of existing concrete and asphalt driveway sections, with new asphalt installed to properly grade and integrate with the relocated carport structure.
