Shortbread Way Home Addition

MOSS Building & Design designed and constructed a comprehensive two-story rear addition measuring 15' x 25' for a residence in Bristow, VA. The project encompassed full architectural and engineering services, including the demolition of existing exterior masonry walls, windows, and rear landing, followed by the construction of a structurally sound addition with continuous footings, steel beam supports, and code-compliant insulation throughout. The exterior features Hardie Plank siding, a new asphalt shingle roof extended over both the addition and existing structure, French doors, and a composite Trex landing with stairs. Interior improvements included extensive custom cabinetry installation, quartz countertops, hardwood flooring throughout both levels with refinishing of existing floors, and comprehensive wainscoting to match the home's existing character. The project featured a complete HVAC rezoning solution with a new heat pump system, plus full mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations to support the expanded living space. All work was completed under full permitting and inspection protocols, ensuring compliance with local building codes and zoning requirements.
