The Story
The Vision Behind This Project
This comprehensive basement finishing project in Centreville, VA transformed an unfinished lower level into a fully functional living space. The scope included complete framing of interior and exterior walls, professional drywall installation, and a custom interior door package featuring a variety of configurations including single hinged, double hinged, and bifold doors with both hollow core and solid core options. Electrical work encompassed the installation of owner-supplied ceiling fans with dedicated switching, along with all necessary wiring and fixtures to support the new living areas. The project also included the strategic creation of a doorway beneath the basement stairs, complete with proper fireblocking and finished drywall to maximize usable space. Window installation, interior trim work, and plumbing fixture installation rounded out the transformation, delivering a polished and code-compliant finished basement ready for everyday use.

Basement Bathroom
Designed for everyday practicality without sacrificing a clean, cohesive aesthetic, the basement bathroom centers on a KOHLER "Cimarron" two-piece toilet in white — a classic silhouette that pairs seamlessly with the shower's polished chrome fixtures. The shower is outfitted with KOHLER "Forte Sculpted" non-thermostatic valve trim in polished chrome, supported by a KOHLER rough-in valve for dependable performance behind the wall. A Delta arm-mount hand shower in chrome adds a layer of flexibility and ease to the bathing experience. In a nod to thoughtful stewardship, the existing faucet, toilet seat, towel bar, and shower curtain rod were carefully retained, allowing the refreshed fixtures to integrate naturally into the space without starting from scratch.
Utility Area
The utility area is anchored by an All-in-One stainless steel laundry sink paired with a white cabinet — measuring 24.2" x 21.3" x 33.8" with reversible doors for flexible installation. Functional and well-proportioned, it brings genuine utility to the finished basement, offering both a working sink and organized storage in a single, hardworking footprint.
